A Christmas Tale (Un conte de Noel Roubaix) Comedy and drama meet in equal measures in this outrageous, daring and emotionally bountiful film. Heading an extraordinary cast, Catherine Deneuve is Junon, the family matriarch, who greets the news of her life-threatening illness with calm equanimity. Jean-Paul Roussillon is her wise, tender husband, while this festive gathering also includes the 'black sheep', banished by his imperious sister, who arrives with his bemused Jewish girlfriend in tow, and the most sensitive of the children, happily married to a 'divine' wife. This wonderful story follows the joys and vicissitudes of family life through this Christmas gathering of the Vuillar clan in Roubaix, in northern France. (Subtitled).
Tickets are available at Leigh Community Centre berfore and on the day of the event at a cost of £6.00.
