LEIGH INFANT SCHOOL

Leigh Infant School was built in 1890 to serve the fishing village of Old Leigh and it has maintained a strong community atmosphere over the years.

Many visitors to the school comment on the happy caring atmosphere and the confident friendliness of the children. This has been achieved through a long tradition of fostering strong links between parents and the school, as well as encouraging a positive community spirit in which everyone, whoever they are, are valued as individuals.

Our school vision incorporates these ideals.

Vision

Our vision will be to continue to create a happy, caring community. We are committed through managing the curriculum and by effective teaching to raise the quality of pupil learning and promote pupil achievement.

The school has nine classes, with thirty pupils in each class. Two of the Reception classes are part-time. The children become full-time during the term in which they are five.

The Headteacher is Mrs.Pauline Lucas and visits to the school are welcomed. A detailed prospectus is available from the School Office.
