15/8 THEATRE COMPANY

Hi, I am writing to tell you about our exciting new events for children coming to Leigh On Sea which I hope you can include on your website.

First up we have a new drama club 1st Act for 7-11 year olds opening up on the 16th April. The club will run every Monday during term time (excluding bank holidays) from 4.14pm-5.45pm at The Blenheim Centre, School Way, Blenheim Chase, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 4HX. Although we cover voice and movement we are strictly an acting group living the singing and dancing in those that can. We aim to develop confidence and social skills through drama, positively encouraging imagination and teamwork through exercises and performance. Pupils will spend sessions making up their own short plays and scenes and acting them as well as playing games designed to develop their creativity. Places must be booked in advance so contact Tania Freeman on 01702 290704 or email fifteeneight@hotmail.co.uk. Each session costs £4. More information can be found on our website www.fifteeneight.co.uk

We also have an extensive summer season planned also to be held at The Blenheim Centre Leigh-on-Sea. We have two detective events, 2 lots of 2 day drama workshops, club taster sessions and improvisation for those 15 years and older.

Detective Event - The Missing Trophy - 1st August - 10-11.30 or 12-1.30pm - £7 (£6 if booked in conjunction with the 29th) - ages 7-11. Hear the case. Examine the clues. Write down the evidence. Do you have the skills to help catch the culprit?

Drama Club Taster Session - 1st Act Drama Club - 6th and/or 20th August - 4.15pm-5.45pm - £5 - ages 7-11. Try us out in the holiday & then, if you like us join 1st Act Drama Club for their new term in September.

Theatre Sportz - On The Spot - 6th and/or 20th August - 6.15pm-7.45pm - £5 - ages 15 upwards. Gift of the gab? Quick witted? With games to especially designed to put you on the spot this event will really test your improvisation skills. Sense of humour essential!

2 Day Drama Workshops - 9th/10th August and/or 23rd/24th August - 10am-3pm (bring lunch!) - £30 - ages 8-12. Day one we develop your acting skills. Day two you make up and perform your own play! Friends and family invited.
