his ambition is to study a composition degree at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music
when he begins university in September 2005.
Josh, who has been composing for about three years now, explained: "I owe a lot to my music teachers, especially John Weeks and Alan Foreman who have encouraged and supported me right from the start. Also, I must say thank you to the headmaster John Duprey for allowing the school to facilitate this event."
Josh's mother is Jane Winiberg who is also enjoying musical success with her album 'Close Up And Real'.
Jane said: "Although I've been able to point Josh in the right
direction he's done the bulk of work himself. As well as writing all the pieces, he
funded the production of his album from his part time
jobs and is highly motivated so there's not been too much for me to do. I'm really proud
of him."
Josh has already gained himself quite a following and will have fans from as far as
Belgium attending his concert.
"I've had music samples up on my website for a while", he says, "which
means that people all round the world have been able to hear my material."
'Sunrise' will be available at the concert and from March 2004 via cdbaby.com and

I got my first saxophone at the age 13 it was an old alto sax, can't really remember the name of it. I played for about a year and then stopped, I then went on to play the drums becoming part of a school band playing "The Jam" covers. I was also at the time learning to play the bass guitar, my musical career went on like this until I was 16 then I decided to come away from music completely .

At aged 20 an old friend of mine came knocking on my door and asked if I was still playing the saxophone, I said "no", but he talked me into playing again and joining his band. This was the start of my obsession for the saxophone, I played every day listening to other players and playing over records to learn as much as I could. I then decided I needed some guidance so after watching the band "C LEVEL" I called on the services of Mr Gary Plumbley. He gave me some very valuable advice and put right some bad habits I had picked up setting me on my way to being a professional saxophone player.
From then on I spent all my time playing in all situations and all styles gaining great experience in live playing and in the studio recording solos on bands demos and recording projects. I also began teaching about five years ago passing on some of my knowledge to children, adults and anyone who wants to learn.

This section has been created to present and offer a platform for our very talented local solo performers and musicians.
Performing in front of a 'live' audience is daunting enough when you are working with other performers or musicians. But when you ape on stage, all alone, and it's just you in the spotlight, it can be a very scary but exhilarating experience. However, it still requires a lot of confidence and courage to perform as a soloist regardless of whatever form of music you are presenting,
So if you are a local performer who wishes to have your profile included on this web site then please e-mail or post us a photograph and biography plus any other relevant information and we will include your information on here as soon we can.
This form of presentation could be invaluable to you by way of offering agents, promoters or even record companies your information far quicker than mailing and at least you will have the comfort of knowing that your details have gone direct to the person that you intended and does not get lost in some other department.
This site has been created to help and assist you in your endeavours, so please use it to your maximum benefit. Furthermore, should you have any suggestions as to how we can improve this facility then please contact us by e-mail at the address below.
