We have three main Theatres within our community and although we do not specifically have any Theatres in Leigh-on-Sea itself, the ones that are listed directly below are situated no more than 10 minutes away from us and are very accessible.  Some Theatres further afield are also listed.

Southend

Cliffs Pavilion

Station Road, Westcliff-on-Sea.

Offers a tremendous variety in all forms of entertainment from Plays to Musicals, Concerts from the Classics to Rock and Pop, Big Bands featuring Music from the 40’/50’s/60’s/70’s/80’s as well as current Chart Bands such as The Manic Street Preachers.

This is a very comfortable and well furbished 1600 plus seater venue and also has a very well run Bar along with an excellent Restaurant both with fantastic views over the Thames Estuary.

Palace Theatre

London Road, Westcliff-on Sea.

Now under the supervision of the actor Roy Marsden, this theatre specialises in Drama or Comedy Productions of a Theatrical nature. The Productions presented here are also very professional, many of which feature well known and established performers.

The Palace is a very intimate venue with a 500-600 seating capacity and ensures an opportunity to enjoy West End standards of performance in your home town at value for money prices. The Bar is also well run and there is the facility for snacks.

New Empire Theatre

22 Alexandra Street, Southend-on-Sea

This Theatre, formally the ABC Cinema, is once again an intimate venue but offers a wide variety of Entertainment from Music, Comedy, Dance to American Wrestling!

Theatrical Productions are also presented at this venue and although compared to the other two venues the facilities here are pretty basic, nevertheless, it is a value for money night out with the ambience of a real theatrical atmosphere.
