A127 tailbacks cause driver misery

Major works commenced yesterday on the A127 at the Kent Elms junction causing peak time drivers an absolute nightmare.

The work, expected to take up to 6 months, see's lane closures in off peak times from 10am to 3:30pm but none in peak traffic times.

The work which is costing an estimated 7 million will see the road widening to three lanes on both sides of the junction in order to improve the flow of traffic.

Southend Council and contractor Eurovia who are carrying out the project, are working closely together to ensure minimal traffic disruption.
