Are you registered to vote?

November 12, 2019 by Leigh-on-sea.com

Residents of Southend-on-Sea need to make sure they register to vote by midnight Tuesday 26 November so they can vote in the General Election this December.

Registering to vote is quick and easy, and takes just five minutes to complete online at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

We are running a campaign on digital bus stop signs throughout the borough as well as on the council’s social media channels and website, reminding residents of the deadlines.

Residents should also be mindful if you have moved recently you will need to register at your current address, if you have not already done so.

Alison Griffin, chief executive and Acting Returning Officer said: “Registering to vote is vital to being able to have your say.

“The deadline for registering is already fast approaching and I would encourage everyone in Southend-on-Sea to make sure they are registered.”

People can find out if they have registered to vote by calling 01702 215010 or emailing: registrationandelections@southend.gov.uk
