Britannia Pub's hope for the future

It was reported a few week's ago that the historical Britannia Pub based on Eastern Esplanade was past restoration and could be demolished. However, histroical experts for the Essex County Preservation Trust have now demanded an experienced surveyor to carry out a full survey whcih will hopefully in turn see the building restored.

A planning application for the 18th century historical building, has had a planning application submitted by the Stockvale Group who own Adventure Island.

If the survey proves positive, then Southend could see one of it's treasured premises once again basking in it's former glory.
