New Website for Bulky Waste Collection

February 19, 2020 by Noah Holland

Many of us know the problem. An aged three-piece suite taking up space in the living room. An new fridge meaning that the old one has to be thrown out. But how to take it to the dump?

Thanks to the council, this problem has been resolved. With the new bulky waste portal, residents can now simply go online to schedule a collection for up to 5 large items directly from the home.

The service costs £7.92 for the first individual bulky item, and £5.28 for any further items.

“Removing large items and furniture from your home can be a problem. Although the council has provided bulky waste collection for some time, we now offer a quick and simple online service that makes booking these collections straightforward." states Cllr Carole Mulroney, who is also a cabinet member for environment and planning.

Pascal Hueret
, directing manager for Veolia. says that "I hope many residents will be able to benefit from this improved service”. He advises them to alternatively "
take them to one of our two Household Waste Recycling Centres at Stock Road or Leigh Marshes."

Veolia's website, which includes a full list of the items that can be collected, can be found here.
