Can you help one of Southend's vulnerable Children this Christmas?

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are once again aiming to ensure that all of Southend’s vulnerable children will receive a gift this Christmas.

Last year’s Toy Drive was an overwhelming success with over 300 gifts donated and the Council are aiming to beat that figure this year.  The Council are asking for help from residents and businesses to support the campaign by donating toys, selection packs, pens and pencils, toiletry sets or vouchers for days out.

All donations will then be delivered to children’s centres, food banks, refuges or children’s parties run by local charities to ensure that every child will have a gift to open.   Deputy Council Leader, Councillor Ian Gilbert said: “I am very proud of our staff for creating this initiative to ensure that all of Southend’s vulnerable children will have a present to unwrap this Christmas.

It is not only important to remember them at this time of year, but also to focus our efforts to assist all vulnerable residents of the Borough throughout the year”

Please bring any donations to the ground floor reception at the Civic Centre or contact Lorraine Goldsmith on 01702 534923 / lorrainegoldsmith@southend.gov.uk to arrange a pick up OR please bring to the Scott & Stapleton Offices at 42 Broadway as we have an arranged collection.
