Choose Tuneful Tuesday!

Tuesday 28th April 2015

Children aged from seven years old upwards can revel in a fun and informal music day during the next half term.

Called Tuneful Tuesday, the event on Tuesday 26th May, runs from 10am until 3pm at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in Boston Avenue, Southend.

It is a chance for all young people to make music together with expert help.

Those of all standards are welcome to take part from beginners to experienced players and all instruments are included – such as strings, woodwind, recorders, brass, percussion, drums, guitars, and recorders.

Under the guidance of experienced tutors, those who come along will be able to join in some group percussion and drumming work, find out about other instruments, learn to play new music, and share in some fun and informal musical activities.

Children are invited to bring lunch and at the end of the day, they have the chance to give an informal concert for family and friends, to show what they have been learning.

The day costs just £9 (£8 for advantage card holders). To book, please visit: www.Tunefultuesday.eventbrite.co.uk or call 01702 215011 from Monday – Friday during office hours.

The Council’s Head of Culture, Nick Harris said: “Tuneful Tuesday is a very popular regular holiday activity for children and young people here in Southend.

“It is a great opportunity for youngsters to get together with others and experience a day of fun music making during half term.”
