Devastation in Leigh-on-sea
Leigh's community has been left devastated after a fire swept through The Fisherman's Co-op yesterday morning.
Many took to social media to pay tribute to the building in the Old Town, which has served the area of over 100 years.
A total of five fire engines responded to a call in the early hours of yesterday morning and by 6:30am reported that they were making good progress at tackling the fire in the two story wooden building.
It is not clear at this stage of the extent of the damage.
