Essex Police Officers travel to Caribbean to help with recovery from Hurricane Irma

Seven Essex Police officers have flown to the Caribbean to assist in the recovery caused by Hurrican Irma.

Hurricane Irma is 400 miles wide and tore through parts of the Caribbean before moving onto mainland American killing more than 40 people.

The officers, who flew out on Sunday in co-operation with the Ministry of Defence, are amonst 53 in total from 14 forces in the UK and will be assiting for 2 weeks. Their support will come in the form of maintaining law, order and helping to locate missing people.
