Essex somatic therapist & Buddhist monk Louise Reader announces debut book Ten

March 11, 2026

Somatic therapist, somatic meditation teacher and Vajracharya Buddhist monk Louise Reader announces the publication of her first book, Ten, releasing 20 March.

Part memoir, part roadmap, Ten traces the lived experience behind Louise’s work: grief, anger and the quiet sadness that can sit underneath a “high-functioning” life — and how healing becomes possible when we stop trying to think our way out of pain and start listening to the body. Moving through travel and spiritual training, Louise shares the practices that supported her transformation, including somatic meditation and body-based approaches designed to calm the nervous system and reconnect mind and body.

Louise says:

“This isn’t a book of quick fixes. It’s what I wish I’d had when I was searching for answers; honest, grounded, and practice led. If you’re carrying stress, anger, grief or pain, I want you to know there is a way through, and it starts in the body.”

Based in Leigh-on-Sea and working with clients locally and in London, Louise supports individuals through 1:1 sessions and somatic meditation classes, helping them release stored tension, build resilience and experience greater wellbeing.

You can meet Louise at Read On Sea in Leigh-on-sea on Friday 27th March at her Author evening.
