Festive Business competition winners announced

The winners and runners up of the 2018 Best Festive Business competition have been announced, with Salon T winning the public vote. 

This year, 42 businesses entered the competition, which received a total of over 900 votes. Salon T, Sutton Road, Southend-on-Sea proved to be the public’s favourite, with Tea Beside The Sea, High Street, Shoeburyness coming second, and Artability Rayleigh Road, Leigh-on-Sea coming in third. 

Salon T has now won a promotional video worth £500 made by Blatella Films, and has also been awarded a certificate, along with Tea Beside The Sea and Artability, which were all presented on Friday 14 December by The Worshipful The Mayor, Cllr Derek Jarvis. 

Cllr James Courtenay, cabinet member for growth, said: “I would like to congratulate all the winners of the Best Festive Business competition, and would like to thank all the businesses who participated in the competition. The festive displays have brought a real festive feel to the borough.

“I would finally like to wish all our businesses throughout the borough a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2019.”

The winners were decided by a public vote on the Business on Sea Facebook page (@BusinessOnSea), where residents and visitors were able to vote for their favourite festive business.
