Free live music at weekends in Priory Park

Tuesday 16th June 2015

Celebrate summer with vibrant free live performances at Southend Bandstand in Priory Park every weekend.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm until 5pm, a huge variety of school bands, jazz ensembles, Salvation Army Bands, choirs, duos, big bands and more can be heard giving it their all at the Bandstand.

These captivating free concerts continue at the same times each weekend until the end of September.

Some seating is provided and the Priory Park café will be open serving refreshments. There is limited parking in the park in Victoria Avenue, Southend.

The next event on Saturday 20th June features Essex Concert Band presenting an afternoon of popular classics, while Sunday 21st June will showcase an unusual ukulele ensemble called D’Ukes.

Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Councillor Graham Longley said: “Southend Bandstand concerts are really popular with residents and visitors of all ages.
