Have your say on future of former East Beach café site

January 24, 2020 by Leigh-on-sea.com

The Council wants to know what local people, visitors and businesses would like see at the site of the former East Beach café which is owned by the council.

The short survey which opened last month and closes on Sunday 26th January, lists a range of options and asks whether people would like to see a café/restaurant or a mix of facilities that could include a community hub selling refreshments.

To take part in the survey, please visit www.southend.gov.uk/consultations and select the ‘consultations’ tab. There is no need to register to take part.

Cllr Ron Woodley, cabinet member for investment, says: “This is a great location that offers an exciting opportunity for a new development to serve both local people and visitors.

“There are a range of options that could be considered and we want to know what people want to see there. I encourage people to take part in the short survey which will help us think about how we take the site forwards.”

Once the survey ends, key themes will be collated and used to help the council decide what to do next with the site.
