Legal Eagle Q & A: Fence boundaries and your legal rights

February 26, 2018 by Melinda @ Giles Wilson Solicitors

Question:  We have just got back from holiday and noticed that the people at the end of our garden have replaced the garden fence (it was broken, and we have been asking them to), but they have moved it so that they have in effect taken some of our garden.  Can we do anything about it?

Answer: Most definitely – boundary disputes are unfortunately the most common of disagreements between neighbours, but you should seek advice and nip this in the bud (excuse the garden pun).
