The People that saved Leigh Regatta!

September 9, 2014 by Joanna Harrison

Hailed, and rightly so, as the 'heros of the hour' by the local community, for saving the well known Leigh Regatta, but who are The Lions Club of Leigh-on-Sea and what are they all about?!!

Formed in 1991, the Lions Club of Leigh encourages locals and visitors to join their fun, social group, where they spend their evenings planning fundraising events for the community and those less fortunate! I dont think you can get much more admirable!

Since creating this commendable and enjoyable group, the Lions Club Of leigh has donated a staggering £282,965.26 to charities, the community, and people in need including Southend Hospital Charity, Youth Projects, Love Southend, a bike for a disabled girl and SO many more!!

Meetings are held 4 times a month on Tuesday & Wednesday in Leigh & Eastwood!

If you would like to donate or become a part of this fantastic group please email Kay Large on president@leighlions.co.uk
