Lets celebrate our community volunteers

June 2, 2022

During this year's Volunteers’ Week (1 to 7 June) Southend-on-Sea City Council would like to thank and celebrate our community volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

The council will be sharing stories and experiences of our volunteers on social media and hope to encourage others to do the same.

We hope the City’s residents, businesses and visitors will help us show the volunteers our appreciation for donating their time and the work they do for the community.

Cllr Stephen George, leader of the council, said: “It gives me huge pride to have a great variety of people willing to donate their time for our community in Southend. I would like to thank all our volunteers for all the work they do and the skills, knowledge, and experience that they bring to their roles is invaluable.

“Although the City has a number of wonderful volunteers, there is always a need for more. So, I encourage people who would like to know more about volunteering and the roles available, to visit the council’s website.”
