New hotel set to open!

A new, contemporary 62 bedroom, 5 storey hotel is set to open in Southend. The land in Victoria Avenue, behind Baryta House is currently being used as a car park.

The hotel is set to join a whole new development of the area dubbed Southend's answer to 'Mayfair' where a number of the old office blocks have already been converted into homes and are selling at a rapid pace.

The hotel plans have been drawn up by architects Refine and Resolve who followed a brief to create a well designed, 21st century building to compliment the area. It will have no customer parking but staff parking and disabled bays will be provided on the ground floor.

Southend Council will make a decision on the plans early next year.
