New Leigh flat's application rejected

An application to build flats on the the Leigh Car Wash plot has been rejected by Southend Council. 

A recommendation to refuse the application by Case Officer Janine Rowley was put forward on the grounds of that no affordable homes were being built and no appropriate financial contribution to the provision of education facilities were made and after a council planning meeting on Wednesday 4th October, the application was officially rejected. 

The submitted application was to build a block of 20 flats which would have been between three and five storeys high.
