Olly Murs announces Essex homecoming show at Lazydays Festival 2027

October 28, 2026

Essex-born superstar Olly Murs is heading home for a headline performance at Southend's Lazydays Festival on Sunday 25 July 2027.

Olly rounds out the headliners for its 2027 lineup, with Dizzee Rascal headlining Friday and Kaiser Chiefs taking to the stage on Saturday. The festival will also welcome Madness for a special, separately ticketed opening concert on Thursday 22 July. More of the lineup will be revealed across the Lazydays Festival weekend in the coming weeks.

The announcement comes as Lazydays celebrates a remarkable start to its fourth year, with more than 10,000 tickets already sold in less than three months, nine months before the festival returns to Priory Park.

Founded in 2024 by three friends from Southend, Lazydays has quickly grown into one of Essex's standout summer events. Following a successful 2026 edition featuring Tinie Tempah, Feeder, Sister Sledge, The Feeling and Natalie Imbruglia, the festival is returning for its fourth year with its biggest lineup yet.

Beyond the music, Lazydays brings together five stages and venues of entertainment, from comedy and family shows to silent discos, street theatre and fringe performances. Independent street food traders, carefully selected drinks producers and spectacular pyrotechnic displays complete the Lazydays experience - living up to its description of being ‘no ordinary weekend’.

Olly's announcement marks another major milestone for the homegrown festival, bringing one of Essex's biggest musical stars back to Southend for the first time since 2011, when he performed at the city's Cliffs Pavilion.

One of Britain's most successful pop artists, the Witham-born singer has enjoyed an extraordinary career, achieving five UK number-one albums, four UK number-one singles, six BRIT Award nominations and worldwide album sales exceeding five million.

With a catalogue of instantly recognisable hits including Dance With Me Tonight, Troublemaker, Heart Skips a Beat, Dear Darlin' and Wrapped Up, Olly has established himself as one of the country's most popular live entertainers, renowned for his infectious energy, charismatic performances and huge singalongs.

His headline appearance promises to be a fitting finale to the festival, bringing one of Essex's biggest musical exports back to his home county for a special summer celebration.

With a strong emphasis on supporting local businesses and emerging talent, the festival has become an important addition to Essex’s summer calendar, attracting visitors to the city while retaining the independent spirit and personal touches that have defined it since its launch.
