Police confirm investigation into death of homeless man

August 23, 2018 by Leigh-on-sea.com

Police have confirmed that they're looking into the death of a homeless man after body parts were found on Sunday, August 19 in a Woodland Area of Shopand Road, Rochford.

Police were initially called to the site in December last year, when a skull was discovered.

A forensic team have been at the site since Sunday and have sent the latest discovery off for a post-moterm examination to ascertain whether they are that of a match to the skull found in December.

The team believe they have identified the skull as that of a homeless man in his 50's. His family have been informed.

The death is being treated as unexplained.
