Police issue warnings over Clown Craze

Police have issued a serious warning too anybody considering partaking in the latest 'Clown Craze'.

The 'Craze', which is thought too originate from the US, see's people dressing up as scary clowns and frightening members of the public.

A number of incidents have been reported throughtout the country including Basildon, Southend and Billericay, with 'Clowns' approaching young children asking them too attend parties with them, chasing people through the streets waving knives and making scary gestures at passers by.

A teenage couple were left in tears in Southend at the weekend when somebody, dressed as a clown suddenly appeared under the street light and started walking quickly towards them. The couple ran and were fortunately not physically harmed.

Police want too make people aware, that scaring members of the public can see you arrested under the Public Order Act 1986.
