Police launch investigation into attempted rape
Police have launched an investigation into an attempted rape near a church in Sutton Road.
Officers were called in the early hours of this morning over concerns of a womans welfare.
It waas reported that a man, described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall and with black hair, approached the woman near All Saints CHurch and attempted to rape her. The woman managed to fight the man off and he ran in the direction of York Road, Southend.
Anyone with any information rearding this incident is asked to call the South Major Investigation Team on 101 quoting crime reference number 42/143834/19.
