'Save our Cliffs'

March 26, 2018 by Leigh-on-sea.con

Campaign Group 'The Saxon King in Priory Park Group' have set up a banner on the Westcliff Cliffs calling for Southend Council to be sacked, as the area, once the Esplanade Pub, is set to be developed into flats and where the council want to build a museum to house the remains of Saxon King.

Campaigners want to see the remains housed in Priory Park instead, where it was originally found in 2003.

Beyond the Box Developments, the owers of the pub and fish and chip shop, are keen to build a total of 49 flats along with two restaurants.

Applications are pending.
