Serious assault on football Fan - thirteen men charged

Simon Dobbin, 44 was left with a serious head injury after being assaulted in East Street, Southend back in March 2015.

Thirteen men are now set to face charges in connection with the assault as Mr Dobbin continue's to undergo rehabilitation.

The men, who live in the local area, are all due to appear at Southend Magistrates Court on the 2nd September following a complex and detailed investigation by police.

The Crown Prosecution Service have reviewed the evidence againist the individuals and are satisfied that under the Code for Crown Prosecution there is sufficient evidence for a realistic convicition. However, they would like to remind the public that these individuals have a right to a fair trial and it is very important that no reporting, commentary or sharing of information on line that could un any way prefudice these proceedings.
