Southend Lagoon's mystery hero saves boy from drowning

A mystery man jumped into Southend Lagoon on Wednesday to save a 6 year old boy from drowning.

The boy, who is unable to swim, got into trouble when he waded into a 2 metre deep area of the lagoon unbeknown to his family playing near by.

The 'Hero', who was at the Western Esplanade attraction with his own young son, dived into the water fully clothed and pulled the boy too safety.

Patrolling police officers, along with paramedics were quickly on the scene and assessed that the boy did not require any hospital treatment.

Police would like too trace the man, who disappeared from the scene to ensure his own son got the whole day out he had promised by taking him to Adventure Island ????
