Southend's walk-in centre closure adds pressure to A & E

Southend's A & E have reported an increase in paitents visiting since the closure of the walk iin centre 6 months ago.

The centre based in St Luke's Health Centre, Southend, used too treat over 1500 paitents a month and councilors are concerned that without the centre, paitents are now waiting longer too seek medical attention cultimating in them needing emergency treatment.

According too official papers, A & E attendance has seen a 6 percent rise for 2015/2016, however, at this stage, the Southend Clinical Commissioning Group believe this not too be a direct result of the centre's closure and more a general increase.
