The Railway Pub under new management

June 4, 2019 by Leigh-on-sea.com

One of Southend's most iconic pubs is under new management after an eleventh-house fund raiser saved it last year.

Popular pub, The Railway Hotel, will be managed by James Vessey-Miller & Reece Learmouth from July.

Yesterday, current Owners of the pub Fi & Dave Dulake took to social media to welcome the new manager's on board:

"Ladies and gentleman, we introduce to you the new faces of The Railway Hotel. James Vesse-Miller and Reece Learmouth. They will be running the pub for us from July. Taking things into a new direction and giving the pub a new future. We're very lucky to have these 2 on board with us. A warm welcome from us all, boys xx

Just last year, the pub was threatened with closure, but a surprising fund raising campaign was launched and after amazing donations by the public thought to be around the £12,000 mark, the venue was saved from closure.

New Manager's James and Reece are keen to extend reassurance in that the pub will remain a live music venue, serving vegan food and proudly play host to the town's artistic and cultural scene.
