Thing's to do this half term!

May 27, 2019 by Nicola @motherofalloutings

It feels like the kids only just went back to school after Easter and now May half term is already upon us. Do not fear, I have plenty of suggestions to keep your little ones entertained.

If you haven’t visited Jacqson Diego story emporium yet you really ought to. It’s a lovely book shop located right by the Palace Theatre on the London Road. They are holding a Storytime session on Friday 31st May at 2pm, its £3 per family (this is redeemable against any purchase made on the day). They are also holding colouring and craft sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of half term 10-12pm and 2-4pm FREE of charge.

The Palace Theatre has a Gruffalo workshop on Thursday 30th May at either 10-12pm or 1.30-3.30pm. Its £5 per ticket and suitable for ages 3-7. There will be crafts, drama games and a story, so don’t forget to prebook your tickets to come visit the deep dark wood with your little mice.

The Palace are also doing a baby cinema showing of Disney’s Coco on Sunday 2nd June at 2pm. Its £5.50 a ticket and under 2s are free. This is the perfect opportunity to see how your little ones manage a cinema experience. The lighting is not dimmed too much and it’s a family friendly, stress free environment. No need to go loco, bring the kids to see Coco.

We all love to live beside a pretty seaside. Chalkwell beach now has a 2 minute beach clean up station with litter pickers and bags to do a litter collect. Why not take 2 minutes to show the kids how important it is to love where you live and look after our beaches. Then there’s plenty of time left to make sandcastles, walk along the promenade. Why not finish up with some food at one of the lovely seaside establishments: Saltwater café, The Beach Hut, Surf, or Tides.

Leigh community centre has an array of farm themed events to keep you entertained throughout the week. They have pony cycles, puppet show, farm yard experience and arts and crafts. Just call E-I-E-I- 01702 716288 to book your tickets all priced at £4-£5. I highly recommend the pony cycles, they are fun for all ages (even adults).
