Towards a Zero-Waste Christmas

November 5, 2019 by Leigh-on-sea.com

Strive towards a zero-waste Christmas with Create98 & The Refill Room, and grab a seat at their free evening event on Nov 26th!

Create98 & The Refill Room have arranged a series of short talks and demonstrations to give you that eco-friendly inspiration for Christmas gifts, wrapping ideas, recipe options & ways to deal with that food waste.

There are some scary statistics out there, it is estimated that 226,800 miles of wrapping paper is thrown at Christmas, which is enough to stretch 9 times around the world. 25 million Christmas pudding packages are thrown out as well as 10 million items of turkey packaging. 6 million trees are thrown after Christmas, creating more than 9,000 tonnes of additional waste.

This free event will discuss the small ways we can try to make a difference, and do our bit in minimising colossal Christmas waste.

There will be free refreshments & nibbles as well as some lovely giveaways. Spaces are limited, call Create98 to reserve your place - 01702716157.

The event will take place from 7-9pm at Create98, 98 Broadway.
