Train brought to standstill after teenagers robbed at knifepoint

A London-bound train travelling from Southend was brought to a standstill after two teenagers were robbed at knifepoint on board. 

The victims, who are thought to have boarded the train at Prittlewell, were forced to hand over their mobile phones, but quickly activated the emergency alarm cultivating in the train coming to a standstill and the incident being dealt with. 

Officers from British Transport Police boarded the train at Shenfield where they arrested a 15 year old boy from London on suspicion of robbery. 

He remains in custody whilst further enquiries are carried out.
