Two men jailed after man left with broken jaw

Two men have been jailed after a a vicious assault in Southend which took place last November. 

Lee Whyte and Lee Barrowman attened Bensons Guest House in Hartington Road, Southend, in an attempt to sell drugs to the victim and his girlfriend. When the pair refused, but offered Whyte two bottles of perfurme to sell, a fight broke out outside with Whyte instructing Barrowman to get his knuckle dusters. 

Basildon Crown Court heard how the victim spent four days in hospital and had surgery due to receiving two fractures to his jaw. 

On the day of sentencing, Whyte was also sentenced to one count of burglary. 

Whyte in received 2 years and 6 months for the burglary and one year for GBH to run concurrently. 

Barrowman received 1 year and 6 months for GBH.

Both men admitted to the offence.
