VILLAGE GREEN ’17!

July 9, 2017 by Leigh-on-Sea.com

This Saturday last was the epic Village Green Festival, where Chalkwell Park is turned into a hive of activity with music, arts, dance and more culture than you can shake a stick at. While it would be impossible (or a least exhausting) to list all our favourite moments from VG17, here are a few LoS highlights...

With the sunny weather and friendly vibes from the offset, everyone was in good spirits, you never realise just how big Chalkwell Park is until it is crammed full of rockers, hippies, movers and shakers, and this year’s lineup was the best yet with something for everyone, from the sun soaked rock n roll of Spatial Awareness, Nothing But Thieves and Kate Nash (who’d’ve thought?!) to the Bollywood and Banghra dance stylings of DJ Balli Kalsi and Indi Sandhu. A regular concoction of culture.

Many of the highlights were to be found off-stage too, with Faceback, located near the world stage, who photographed peoples faces, stuck them on pin badges and set people off to find their counterpart, a great way to meet new people and get chatting.

What was your favourite part of Village Green ’17, leave a comment below and we’ll retweet the best.
