Active Southend-On-Thames Returns This Summer

March 13, 2026

Active Southend-on-Thames is set to make waves again in 2026, bringing a wide range of water-based activities to Southend’s coastline and giving more residents the opportunity to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of the area’s blue spaces.

Following another successful year, the programme returns with an expanded schedule designed to encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to get active on the water. Funded by Active Thames, the initiative continues to focus on reducing inequalities that can prevent some communities from accessing coastal and water-based opportunities.

The 2026 programme will feature a variety of sessions aimed at building confidence in and around the water, supporting physical and mental wellbeing, and helping participants connect with Southend’s coastal environment in a safe, welcoming setting.
