Best Spots On The Beach

With temperatures set to sore again in the next few days we're bringing to you the our 'Best spots on the Beach' to visit this summer holidays
Three Shells
The Three Shells beach is the nearest one to all the action of Southend seafront. It's not huge but it's central and is well-kept. It's the closest beach to Adventure Island, and the hundreds of shops, cafes and amusements along the front. A recent addition is the Three Shells Lagoon which allows families to swim and paddle all day long without worrying about the tides. This beach also has a play area for kids, a shower and its own café.
Leigh-on-Sea
This is the far quieter option than nearby Southend. It's at the far end of Southend seafront, but this beach appeals to all ages. It's calmer and more relaxing, even during the summer months, when it is a hotspot for windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts. During the peak summer season, seafood stalls sell cockles and jellied eels. It's a pleasant, clean beach with golden sand. Leigh-On-Sea itself is just a stroll away which has a choice of restaurants, shops and stores.
East Beach
The beach is one of Southend's only sandy beaches, and the water quality is excellent. Beside the beach is a long grassy area that's great for family picnics. It's definitely quieter than the neighbouring Southend beach and is ideal if you want space to spread out in and build sandcastles. Shoebury Common beach has a blue flag.
