Introducing the online face of Affinity “The Mortgage Mum”

July 30, 2018 by Leigh-on-sea.com

My name is Sarah Tucker and I joined Affinity Mortgages in January 2017, 6 months after having my son Joshua. I was a new Mum of 2, which any Mum will tell you is a big change in the family household. I had qualified as a mortgage broker in July 2015, when my daughter was 2 years old and I was working under a network. My reputation was finally starting to build - I knew all I had to focus on was the service I was giving my customers, not the numbers, and that is still the approach I have now. At that time I was working 3 days a week in London, then looking after my daughter the other 2 days, and doing mortgage work on the train journeys, evenings and weekends. I now work from home in Leigh on Sea, working for the amazing Affinity Mortgages, and I feel so supported. I have never known it any differently than juggling this role around children and “Mum life”, which can be challenging as any working Mum knows. You will see me at the school gate every day, but you will also always receive high quality, meaningful service from me. Because I truly care, and I think my true understanding of family life is what sets me apart from other brokers in the industry.

My focus is on SERVICE first. I understand how important your home, and therefore your mortgage, is to your family. It changes everything. We have just extended our family home after years of waiting by remortgaging and releasing equity to do it, which has meant our children finally have a bedroom each! I know first-hand what is important to families, first time buyers, and couples looking to take that next step on the property ladder. I have been there! This is why I love what I do – I love helping people achieve their goals. I like to really make my customers look at the bigger picture, not just the immediate one.

A question I always ask is “What do you want to happen for yourself and your family in the next 2 to 5 years? Let’s look at what we are hoping for and work with that.”

It may seem deep and unnecessary, but I like to help my customers make their mortgage work for them and their family. To enhance their life, not just be a direct debit. A mortgage really is an opportunity. For you to buy the house you love, for you to make it one you are passionate about and proud of, and for you to make investments that could change your financial circumstances!

I have just started doing “FACEBOOK LIVES” on my mortgage page – every week I go live and answer your questions about mortgages. It is already evolving into a weekly topic and word is spreading. My aim is to educate from the comfort of your own home and your own schedule. It’s not easy finding time to do anything when you are busy, which we all seem to be, so sitting with a broker is not always appealing! However you may get 5 minutes while unloading the dishwasher or cooking the dinner to pop on my video and learn something that could really benefit you. Lots of us have mortgages and so many of us have no idea about them! This is the biggest financial commitment you make and so my aim is to educate and inspire people to think outside the box a little bit. Try not to laugh at me when I say this but arranging your mortgage can be exciting! It’s a great opportunity to assess how things are going for you financially, make new goals and potentially use your mortgage to help you reach them!

I love it when I help clients make goals and 2 years later when their remortgage renewal comes up, I see they have hit them and I feel part of their growth and success in a small way! I truly love it when that happens, which it often does!

Please get in touch with me or any of the brokers at Affinity Mortgages for your mortgage needs. We are different from the rest. Each of us care about our clients and that is reflected in the feedback we all receive. We are lovely normal people, all with different backgrounds and strengths which means no matter what type of client you are, and what your needs are, there will be always be a broker for you!

Affinity Mortgages have a team of mortgage brokers available to assist you both with your mortgage and protection requirements and can be contacted on 01702 337003 or by emailing info@affinity-mortgages.co.uk.
