C2C roll out new fleet of trains since 2003

24 new british built carriages have arrived at C2c's East Ham depot, the first new trains in 13 years.

The new carriages, the first phase of three lots due to arrive, are currently undergoing testing and driver training and are due to be released next month.

Since releasing the new timetable in January, C2C have been working hard with local passenger groups. The additional trains will assist with what has been highlighted as priorities for commuters including extended trains to Thurrock, seats being available at more stops and faster trains between Southend and London.

Passengers will see three lots of trains gradually phased in throughout November and December with a new peak timetable introduced at the early part of next year.
