Christmas At St Clement's

December 14, 2015 by Joanna Harrison

St Clement’s, ‘The Westminster Abbey of Leigh’ extends a warm welcome to all this Christmas Season!

St Clement’s has been serving the people of Leigh-on-Sea for over 800 years, and in 2015 gained worldwide attention for the best of reasons with ‘Our Welcome from the Heart of Leigh’ capturing hearts and minds around the globe. It began simply with our warm and inclusive message of welcome at the Church door that was photographed by a passing visitor and shared on social media. The response was amazing and our simple but sincere message has spread far and wide.

Throughout the year and, at Christmas time especially all are welcome at our services and community events. Sadly we often hear that people find Christmas flat, pointless and ‘not how it used to be’. So at St. Clement’s we pray that our Christmas services and events will bring the joy of Christmas to all. There’s a long list of things coming up and everyone is welcome at any or all.

The church overlooks the estuary, situated at the top of Leigh Hill at the junction of the three main roads, Elm Road, Leigh Broadway and Broadway West. SS9 1AR.
