More free foot tapping music in the park! This weekend!

Thursday 28th August 2014 Vibrant live music continues at the bandstand in Priory Park this weekend, and on Sundays throughout September.

These entertaining free performances from 3pm until 5pm at the bandstand near the café in the park in Victoria Avenue, Southend offer an exciting selection of music including big bands and choirs.

This Saturday 30th August features the renowned Melvin Beddow Big Band and on Sunday 31st August it is the turn of Tequila Swing.

The popular annual free series brings residents and visitors flocking to hear the county’s finest musicians performing live outdoors in the park. Some seats are provided and there is limited car parking in the park.

Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Councillor Graham Longley said: “It is really uplifting to hear these excellent performances in the beautiful surroundings of Priory Park. “We hope as many people as possible will be able to take advantage of the rest of this season’s programme which promise some really lively offerings.”

All performances are free and run from 3pm until 5pm.

· Sunday 7th September - Cantare Ladies Choir
· Sunday 14th September - Essex Concert Band
· Sunday 21st September - Hadleigh Salvation Army Band
· Sunday 28th September - Bryan Williamson Big Band
