Gadgets similar to 'Fitbits' to be introduced at Southend Hospital
Southend hospital will be introducing 'Fitbits' in a bid to stop bed blocking, poor paitent department transfers and A & E waiting times.
The introduction of the high tech gadgets, set to be rolled out later on this month, was prompted by a report that highlighted an increased number of people waiting for more than for hours in A & E.
The gadgets, called TeleTracking Technologies, detects electronic badges and bracelets attached to patients, staff and equipment which should in turn see a much faster and smoother transition throughout these key areas.
