Glow for Havens Lights Up the Night and Raises Thousands for Local Hospice Care

Havens Hospices’ first-ever Glow for Havens event has been hailed a glowing success after hundreds of participants came together on Saturday night to walk, dance, and raise vital funds for local hospice care.
More than £25,000 was raised at the brand-new fundraiser, sponsored by The Pearl Dragon and Complete Intacare, which saw supporters don their brightest neon and glow-in-the-dark gear to take on a 5K or 10K route through the woodlands around Little Havens and all the way to Hadleigh Castle and back.
Families, friends, and colleagues walked in memory of loved ones, in support of their local hospices, or simply for a fun night out - all while helping to raise vital funds for children, adults, and families living with complex or incurable conditions across the community.
The evening didn’t end at the finish line. Walkers were treated to an optional silent disco, making it a night to remember.
Abbey Parsons, Fundraising Officer at Havens Hospices, said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout for our first-ever Glow for Havens. Seeing the community come together, light up the night and walk in support of local hospice care was incredibly special. Every pound raised helps us continue providing free, specialist care for everyone who needs us, whenever they need us.
“Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, our Patron Su Harrison for hosting, and every single person who took part - you truly made a difference.”
Early figures show that Glow for Havens has raised more than £25,000, with donations still coming in. All proceeds from the event go directly towards Havens Hospices’ specialist care and support, helping local people make the most of every day.
For those who couldn’t attend, Havens Hospices encourages supporters to look out for future fundraising events to get involved in. Visit www.havenshospices.org.uk/events for more information on upcoming events and challenges.
