Jersey Boys

The internationally acclaimed stage sensation, Jersey Boys is working its way back to Southend!
This smash hit musical has won 57 major awards worldwide, including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
Jersey Boys tells the true life story of four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who wrote their own songs, invented their own unique sound, and sold 100 million records worldwide.
Featuring hit after legendary hit including Beggin’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Oh What A Night, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, Bye Bye Baby, Big Girls Don’t Cry and many more , Jersey Boys is a story full of heart, humour and ‘sheer musical razzmatazz’ (The Sunday Express) you simply will never forget.
In the words of The Four Seasons "Oh What A Night", the show Jersey Boys never fails to deliver that "feel good factor".
This show is a great uplifting night out with excellent performances from all involved especially the four lead roles whose voices recreate that unique sound.
The story takes you back to their misspent teenage years growing up in New Jersey where they met and formed the group. It takes you through their rise to stardom with an insight into the ups and downs of their lives whilst performing the amazing music they wrote and performed. Each member of the group tells his side of their story revealing their personal highs and low points and it's hard to make up your mind as to who contributed the most to their fame.
Together the performers brilliantly recreate the unique sound of the Four Seasons and this show still plays to a packed theatre every night. The standing ovation at the end with everybody dancing in the aisles proves what a great performance they gave. This show is an absolute must for the occasional theatre goer and musical theatre fans alike.
Jersey Boys is showing from Tue 17 to Sat 28 July 2018 at the Cliffs Pavilion.
The reviewer Michele Shelley loves the theatre.
