Lady McAdden Raises Over £5,000 at Festive Fundraiser
Leigh-on-Sea–based breast cancer charity Lady McAdden brought together 120 local women last week to kick off the festive season in style, raising over £5,000 in funds.
The event, a Ladies’ Christmas Lunch and Market held at the Holiday Inn, Southend was a wonderful success. Guests enjoyed a delicious seasonal lunch, live music from singer Amy Langmead, a festive prize draw, and a handpicked selection of market stalls selling homemade soaps, ceramics, fudge, and other unique gifts. It was a great way for guests to start their Christmas shopping in a relaxed, fun setting – removing Christmas shopping stress from busy stores.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was warm, uplifting, and full of community spirit. Among the attendees were long-standing supporters, trustees, and women whose lives have been directly impacted by breast cancer. All united in celebration and support of the charity’s mission.
Every pound raised will go directly to supporting Lady McAdden’s work. The charity provides 1:1 specialist nurse support before, during and after breast cancer, offering personalised care, reassurance, and guidance during what can be an incredibly challenging time. The funds also go towards running the McAdden Sanctuary which is a peaceful centre based in Leigh-on-Sea offering holistic classes such as gentle Pilates, arts/craft and creative writing.
As an independent charity, Lady McAdden receives no NHS funding and relies solely on donations, fundraising events, and community generosity to continue delivering its essential services. The funds raised at this year’s festive lunch will make a meaningful difference to the lives of those who need support.
