Legal Eagle Q&A: Should my ex have more than half of our house now we are splitting up?

July 3, 2017 by Melinda @ Giles Wilson Solicitors

Question: My boyfriend and I bought a house together years ago and put the same amount of money in to it back then. We are splitting up and he is arguing that he should have more than half because he has paid for the extension and paid more on the mortgage. Is that right?/p>

Answer: Unfortunately he could be. As always your personal situation would need to be looked at more carefully as there is no set formula - i would strongly recommend that you get legal advice.
