Leigh In The Pink

October 9, 2017 by Stephanie Wilson

Leigh Traders turn pink for their local breast cancer awareness charity.

From 9-15th October 80 traders will decorate their shops and office fronts, hold raffles and competitions and even bake pink cakes to raise much needed funds for Lady McAdden Breast Screening Trust.

This generous act supports this Essex charity who offer high quality services for the early detection of breast cancer through mammography, examination and education in breast awareness. The Breast Screening Unit, located next to Southend Hospital, also provides advice, support, empathy and information for those concerned about their health.

Ken Johnson, Chairman of the Trust said "We have seen time and time again our community support those in need, and once again we are humbled by the generosity of our local businesses. The early detection for breast cancer is a fundamental need and right of any woman, and turning Leigh Pink is a fantastic way to support that right and make early screening a reality for women in our community.
