Leigh-on-Sea named 4th best place to live in the UK!

March 10, 2015 by Ray Morgan

We're delighted that our amazing home-town has been named the fourth best place to live in the UK in a recent list from The Times.

This isn't the first time our town, the cooler little sister of Southend, has been heralded as such. We're very lucky with what we have here. We have great views, the estuary, parks, a cultural arts scene, great schools, Scout and Guide groups. Our independent businesses thrive here too. The Times mentioned the annual Art Trail, and of course we've also got Leigh Folk Festival (now in its 24th year!) and Village Green - all wonderful examples of how our community comes together to make something great.

Leigh is one of those places where you'll walk down the Broadway or Leigh Road, and you'll always bump into somebody you know. The moment the sun comes out, everyone flocks to Old Leigh to sip pints, eat cockles, dip their toes in the water at high tide and eat ice cream together. There are a huge number of artists, writers, and musicians in this town not to mention the ever-growing freelance collective. In short, we think it's pretty brilliant too.

So I guess it's over to you, now, dear readers. What do YOU love about Leigh? What makes it so great for you?
