Storm Eunice Useful Information and Contacts

February 18, 2022

With storm Eunice approaching Southend Council's teams are ready to deal with issues such as fallen trees, road closures and surface water.

Household waste recycling centres (HWRC's) will be closed today (Friday), and re-open Saturday subject to weather conditions recycling and waste collections are currently planned to continue as usual on Friday, but collections could be affected. Please tie bags up well and, where possible, only put full bags out for collection - this will help prevent them from moving in the wind and getting into the road. Please clip lids fully on your cardboard container and please ensure your food waste caddy is fully locked. Please take any empty containers or sacks back onto your property as soon after collection as you can.

The festival of light is cancelled today (Friday) - hopefully it can resume for its final day on Saturday. Southend Pier will be closed today (Friday)

All Southend’s libraries, Museums and Focal Point Gallery will be closed today (Friday)
